Alison is honoured to be the Vice President of the Rotaract Club of Barrie for 2016/2017 & has been an active member since 2015. Throughout her time as a member, Alison has discovered that “no act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted” – We truly do have the ability to change a life or many lives. YOU get to choose the impact you make -- on your village, your country, and this world. Alison inspires others by sharing her passion with other like-minded young adults in her city. As a two-time Haitian Humanitarian Assistance & Relief Team (HHART) attendee/member with the Wasaga Beach Rotary Club, Alison was able to discover her passion and desire for helping others. Alison provided assistance to the poor and disadvantaged Haitians in the Dominican Republic. She was able to connect on a personal level, as she speaks and understands Spanish. Alison’s Father has been a Rotarian for over 25 years and has always encouraged her to get involved with Rotaract after helping to charter our Rotaract Club in Barrie. Alison lives and works in Barrie. She enjoys traveling and working on home improvement projects during her spare time. Alison is very excited for the year ahead with this amazing organization!
Merrisa has been involved with the Barrie Rotaract Club since it's Charter in 2012. She has been a member through college and university, and took a more active role in the club once she graduated with her Bachelor of Social Work Degree in 2015, when she became the Chair of the Community Service and International Committee. She is a Rotaractor because being part of the Rotary Community affords her the opportunity to be involved in projects that create sustainable change locally and internationally. Merrisa's other passions include reading, nature walks, bird watching, spending time with family and sleeping in on weekends!
Amy started her Rotaract career in 2013 and hasn’t looked back. Now in her second year as treasurer she is looking forward to helping the Rotaract club grow in 2017. She attended Western University where she completed her Business degree and played on a strong Varsity Women’s Golf Team. In her free time, Amy enjoys activities such as yoga, hiking and knitting. But nothing tops her not so secret obsession with chocolate and the Hudson’s Bay Company. Amy’s dad is an active Rotarian and she was raised in a Rotary environment. This inspired her to join Rotaract, which gives her the opportunity to meet incredible people and make a positive impact in her community, as well as internationally. Most importantly she loves that she is able to do all these things with her Rotaract Family.
